Hello one and all. So i will say this- this week i have felt very insufficient in my calling as a missionary. How can i, a 19 year kid with no real skill at talking to people, make a difference in helping people draw closer to god? I received an email from a good friend i consider family that told me about an experience he felt similar on his mission, and with the benefit of hindsight he told me what blessings he sees by trusting in the Lord, working hard, and letting the Lord direct him. SO i have decided i need to simply turn my questioning and doubts into trust in the Lord and have faith that he has all power. I also found this scripture today: Mosiah 4:11 says
9 Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not Comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.
This week we have decided to focus our efforts on finding people to teach. SO we worked ours buts off and Friday and Saturday when we made that relsoultion, and we taught two lessons to people on the doorsteps and gave them both a book of Mormon which they said they would read! One was an Indian man and another a guy in his 20’s that used to be religious. Not new investigators, but still miracles nonetheless! WE have started to make small steps in the right direction, and with time and patience i know the Lord can turn Burlington into an area where blessing are poured out on the missionaries. Wether i am here or not it doesn’t matter- i will do all i can do to make this happen. Oh and a 12 year we have been working with passed the sacrament yesterday! I felt so proud of him. Well, love to all. Hope this new year starts a good year for all. AS my friend President Hinckley said, “things will work out”.
